Named after the late Chuck Hennessey, Jr., "Paddy" is our funeral home comfort dog. He is a hypo-allergenic, non-shedding, medium labradoodle born on April 20, 2016. He is a wonderful addition to our funeral home on North Pines Road. Families we serve appreciate his love and affection. Stop in to visit him!

Laura was raised in Davenport, Iowa, the second youngest of 10 children. She began her college studies at Brigham Young University, transferring to Palmer School of Chiropractic Technology, earning a technology degree in 1991, emphasizing office management, anatomy and physiology, radiology and venipuncture. Besides medical office management, her work experience has also included insurance billing, patient services, cashier/customer service, and executive assistant/bookkeeper. She took time off to raise her four children and was able to do freelance consulting during that time. Laura began at Hennessey Funeral Homes in 2015 as a crematory operator and embalmer intern, shifting to Hennessey Valley in 2017 as crematory manager, and oversees the memorial print services. Laura enjoys reading, cooking, organizing, kayaking, painting, classic movies and spending time with her family. She also plays the piano and violin.
Funeral Director & Embalmer
Colin was born in New Westminster, BC, Canada to American and
British parents. He started in Funeral Service in 1999 earning his associate's degrees in Funeral Direction and Embalming. Colin then moved to Spokane to
marry the most wonderful woman in the world and they welcomed two tortoises and
two pug dogs - Max and Levi - into their home. He is active in Kiwanis and
several volunteer activities and Colin is very passionate about his volunteer
work with marginalized people - though 90% of his social life is with the
Spokane Pug Group.
Advanced Planning Specialist
Susie represents the fourth
generation to work for Hennessey Funeral Homes. She graduated from Gonzaga Prep
in 1980 and attended Gonzaga University, Spokane Falls Community College and
Spokane Community College. Susie has lived in several places, including Dutch
Harbor, AK, Arkansas, Seattle, and Portland, but returned home to Spokane to
raise her son Charlie and to be with family and enjoy the perks of Spokane. She
loves the four seasons here and enjoys living so close to lakes and winter
Scott Anthony August was born in Spokane. He graduated from Gonzaga Prep in 1973 and received his A.A. degree from Spokane Falls Community College in 1975. Scott then attended Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, OR, completing his A.S. in Funeral Service education in 1979. Upon leaving Mt. Hood, Scott began his career working for Charles Hennessey, Jr., at the north Spokane Hennessey location, where he worked from 1980 to 1985. For the next 22 years, he was a managing partner at Einan's Funeral Home in Richland, WA. Scott served on the Washington State Funeral Directors Association board from 2005 - 2007. He returned to Spokane to retire and spend more time with his grandchildren. He now lives in Spokane Valley with his wife Debra, and two dogs Sam and Vinnie.
