Jean Agnes Frucci

April 26, 1934 ~ February 16, 2018 (age 83) 83 Years Old

Jean Agnes Frucci (Reeck)

Fantastic daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother.

Born in Spokane, WA April 26, 1934 to Arthur Ralph & Wilma Mary Reeck (Clay), and was joined by her brother Arthur Robert in 1935.  While the family moved a few times for Art’s employer (Portland, Seattle, McMinnville), they landed back in Spokane in time to attend school at Cooper Elementary and Rogers High School.  While in school, Jean was in the band, Girl Scouts and Job's Daughters.  Their home in the Minnehaha neighborhood was also the Reeck General Store at the intersection of Fredrick and Euclid.

After high school, Jean attended Eastern Washington State College, an airline office training school, and then back to EWSC to finish her degree in elementary education.  It was at Eastern, while playing clarinet in the band, that she met a trumpet player by the name of John Frucci.  John and Jean were married December 28, 1957.  Jean started her career in elementary education in West Valley School District where she taught fourth and first grade while John began his as the music instructor at Deer Park.  She took a break from teaching to start a family in 1960, and in 1967 went back into the classroom for the Central Valley School District at McDonald Elementary.  Jean retired in 1989 to become a full time Grandma, traveler and community volunteer.

Jean enjoyed sewing (passed on to the grand kids), baking (passed on to Jim), bowling with the Channel Chicks, family camping, Lake Christina ski/camping trips with John and the band & orchestra kids,  volunteering in the community (especially with the Kiwanis organization), and everything to do with grandchildren (babysitting to spoiling and everything in between).  She sewed hundreds of crib blankets, donating them thru the Kiwanis organization to new moms in need.  She also enjoyed big family gatherings and often planned and opened her house to extended family reunions.  John and Jean also enjoyed spending time at their getaway in Ocean Park, most often with grand kids at their side for weeks at a time.  Jean had beautiful hand writing and enjoyed corresponding with family and friends thru hand written letters, notes and cards.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 53 years, John.  She is survived by her brother Arthur (Kris) Reeck and nephew Jay, sons Mike (Vicki), Steve (Lynn) and Jim (Katie), grandchildren Marissa, Jamie, Sean (Pachee), Shannon, Michaella (Robert) Rockett, LeLani Hansen (Perry Archer) , Josh (Nichol) Petrie, great grandchildren Travis, Reinnee, Abrianna, William, and great great grandchild Zayden.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Evergreen Fountains Assisted Living – especially Mom’s ‘girls’.  She had a wonderful four years with you.

Please join us in celebrating Jean’s human experience.
