Welcome to the memorial page for

JoAnn Rose Dixon

August 13, 1944 ~ January 17, 2018 (age 73) 73 Years Old

JoAnn R Dixon was born August 13, 1944 in Walhalla, N.D. as JoAnn Rose Johnson. JoAnn moved to Spokane when she was eight years old and attended St. Ann’s grade school and Lewis and Clark high school.

JoAnn leaves behind her husband of 50 years, Richard L Dixon, and 4 children; Chris D Dixon with his wife Cathy, Debra A Dixon, Robert W Dixon and his wife Lori and Judi L Dixon-Voorhees and her husband Steve Voorhees. There are nine grandchildren, Jeremy Dixon, Jason Dixon, Cameron Dixon, Courtney Dixon, Austin Dixon, Amanda Dixon, Amelie Dixon, Landen Voorhees and Laiken Voorhees. There are also 10 great grandchildren.

JoAnn loved family and family gatherings, always looking forward to any celebration that would get parts of the family together.

She loved camping, especially after getting a travel trailer, as long as she did not have to ride in the care while her husband pulled the trailer to the site!

JoAnn was also an excellent bowler, bowling for many years in scratch leagues and collecting trophies for her troubles. She was competitive and enjoyed the sport, but it was mostly the people she enjoyed. Always a people watcher.

JoAnn also had a second family, Gold Seal Mechanical, Inc., the company she helped build for nearly 50 years. Looking after employees with respect and concern just as if they were her own. JoAnn was the key person keeping the company going during several construction downturns, because she did not want her “family” to lose their jobs. She never denied giving a helping hand to anyone who asked, never asking for anything in return.

JoAnn traveled extensively, but she would rather just be at home. She loved the simple life of her home and family to the allure of the glitter of the world.

A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2018, 11am, at Valley Real Life, 1831 S Barker Rd, Greenacres, WA 99016.
