Marilyn Kay Heileson

Marilyn Kay Heileson went to join her Heavenly Father on September 15, 2017, after a battle with Glioblastoma. She passed away in her home in Spokane Valley, WA, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, John Lloyd Heileson, her four children and their families, and her two brothers. Her children and their spouses include: Bret and Tammie Heileson of Harlan, IA; Debbie and Kirk Michaelsen of Spokane Valley, WA; Kevin and Jennie Heileson of Waukee, IA; and Sheri and Derek Neeley of Chicago, IL. Her brothers and their spouses are Dean and Carolyn Monson of Paul, ID, and Don Monson of Fallon, NV. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren. She earned an Associate’s Degree from Ricks College and enjoyed water sports, traveling, and gardening. She was also a great tennis player, played the piano beautifully, cooked with the best of them, and got great joy from pinching her children with her toes. A visitation will be Monday, September 18, 9am, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 14111 E 16th St, Spokane Valley, with a funeral service to follow at 11am.
