Mathew George May (July 17th 1951- March 8, 2024)
Ever the do-it-yourself type, here’s what he left for his obituary:
”I was raised a farm boy near Canby Oregon and became an engineer. I had a rewarding career, beautiful wife and loving family. They are all productive and none of us have been to jail yet. What more can one ask for in this life? I hope for as much success in the next." -- Matt May
Mathew George May was born in Oregon City, Oregon to Robert and Theresa May. Raised on a farm near Canby, OR, he graduated from Canby Union High School, where he met and married his wife, Carol. Matt attended Oregon State, where he graduated with a Masters in Engineering in 1973. The couple moved to Spokane, where Matt worked for Kaiser Aluminum and Honeywell as an industrial engineer, IT manager and special projects manager. Work took him and his family across the globe, to Sardinia, Ghana, and Thailand. Matt always had a project going, from working on the house, to redesigning the front yard with his tractor, cooking, farming mushrooms, or writing software for stock market analysis. He is survived by wife Carol, children Chris (Suzanne) and Jenn (Ryan) May, and grandchildren Teagan, Abigail, Joshua and Tanner May. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Spokane Humane Society 6607 N. Havana St., Spokane, WA 99202. To leave condolences for the family, please visit Mathew's Tribute Wall.
