Adetta Harder Willey

December 22, 1966 ~ April 28, 2021 (age 54) 54 Years Old

Tribute

Adetta (Harder) Willey died April 28 following complications from a stroke and is now playing softball in heaven with her father, Spokane Metro Hall of Famer, Hank Harder.

She and Ron Willey were happily married for 27 years and together raised five children, Brandy, Jamie, Jason, Lucas and M’Kenna. They have seven grandchildren.

Adetta was a lover of her many pet dogs, treating them as if they were her kids.

Born in Spokane, Adetta also lived in Clarkston, WA, Livingston and Corvallis, Montana. She returned to Spokane Valley as a sophomore at West Valley High School.

Athletics was a big part of family life and she stood out in basketball and softball at WV. The Eagles reached the State WIAA 3A State Slowpitch softball tournament finals, placing second. Adetta, a 1985 graduate, shared the Greater Spokane League MVP award.

In a Spokesman-Review story about those accomplishments at the time, Willey was quoted humorously, “We had played together for so many years as youngsters we taught (coach Steve Kent) a lot.”

Other survivors include her mother, June Harder, sisters Tambra Vlahovich (Mike), D’Nette Allsop (Dorrel) and brother Luke; two nieces and three nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to Spokane Hospice, Rosalia Fire Department or SCRAPS, 6815 E Trent, 99212.

Due to COVID restrictions seating may be limited.  A celebration of life is being planned for later this summer.
