Alexander Henry Rizzuto

April 14, 1931 ~ November 28, 2023 (age 92) 92 Years Old


Born April 14, 1931 In Fernie, British Columbia, Canada to Michael Paul Rizzuto and Elsie Mae Kershaw, Alexander “Sam” Henry Rizzuto passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2023 in Spokane, Washington. Sam was the oldest of 5 siblings and spent his early years in Canada.  A graduate of North Central High School Class of 1949, Sam had a long career as a journeyman electrician, working on Hydro-electric projects all over the northwest, and was a member of IBEW #77 Electricians Union.  He was married to Georgia Ann Anderson from 1951-75, and raised five children together in the Indian Trail neighborhood.  Sam was a former member of the Washington National Guard and a long-time member of Spokane Eagles Aries #2. His interests were golfing, watching Gonzaga Bulldog basketball and WSU Cougar football games, movies and card games.  A humble, kind and generous man, Sam loved his family and his family loved him. He was very humorous and made good friends wherever he went.  He will be truly missed.  Sam is survived by three sons, Terry Rizzuto (Connie), Richard Rizzuto and Dean Rizzuto (Lesa); one grandson Joe Rizzuto; two granddaughters Jamie Rizzuto (Chad) and Jenna Rizzuto; and five great grandchildren.  Sam was preceded in death by his son David Rizzuto; daughter Joyce Rizzuto; three brothers Mike, Tom and Jack Rizzuto and sister Myrna Rawlins. The family asks that you send any donations to the Spokesman Review Christmas Fund.  Sam’s Celebration of Life is Saturday, February 3, 2024, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Longhorn Barbeque, 2315 N.
