October 4, 1943 ~ February 14, 2024 (age 80) 80 Years Old

Tribute

Barbara was born Barbara Jean Garcia on October 4, 1943 in Hollywood, California.  She went to be with her Lord on February 14, 2024.  Our mom (Daisy) was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She lived her life taking care of her family.  After she retired from working at the Jesuit House at Gonzaga University, she spent many seasons watching her grandchildren, while parents went off to work.  We couldn’t have asked for a better caregiver than “Nana”. She greatly loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  To a fault, she never hesitated to sacrifice whatever she felt was necessary to make sure everyone in her family was okay. She was a feisty and spirited woman, who kept us all on our toes, and her sense of humor was such that we shared lots of laughs together.  We will always be thankful for her steadfast love and devotion.  Mom, we will miss you terribly.  This is not goodbye.  We will see you, again, in Heaven.  Barbara is survived by her husband, Edward Charbonneau; son, Joseph Curtis; daughters, Denise Marsh, Nicole Grimmer (Craig), Rachael Charbonneau and sister, Rose Marie Lane (Steve); eight grandchildren, Andrew Curtis, Gabriel Marsh, Jacqueline Bruscoe, Danielle Grimmer, Zachery Charbonneau, Gabriella Charbonneau, BreeAnna Shore and Brittni Grimmer; four great-grandchildren, Patton Marsh, Beau Bruscoe, Sofia Shore, Kennedy Shore and numerous nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Antonia Garcia; sister, Louise Zarur, and son, Patrick Curtis; The Funeral Mass is scheduled for 12 Noon on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Spokane, Washington followed by the 1:30 p.m. Committal Service at Holy Cross Cemetery.  To leave condolences for the family, please visit Barbara’s Tribute Wall.
