Bill L. Washburn passed away on November 8, 2023, after an eight year struggle with Parkinson's disease. He was 75 years old. He was born in Spokane, Washington to Joseph A. and Fern (Sue) Washburn.
Bill grew up in Spokane Valley and attended University High School and spent his senior year at North Central High School. In 1969, he joined the army and was stationed in Bamberg, Germany. That same year, Bill married Patricia (Patti) McGee and shared a life together for 55 years. They were blessed with two children, Nicholas and Stephanie.
Bill retired from Kaiser Aluminum, Trentwood, after 42 years of employment.
Bill loved the outdoors. He was an avid snowmobiler and fisherman. He also enjoyed 4-wheeling, jet skiing, archery, and watching Seattle Seahawk football games. His favorite place to spend summer days was at the family lake cabin on CDA Lake.
Bill is survived by his wife, Patti; son, Nick; daughter, Stephanie; niece, Shiela Stigall; and mother, Fern (Sue) Washburn. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Washburn and his brother, Mike Washburn.
It is with a sad heart that we say "good-bye."
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of those from Hospice of Spokane who helped care for Bill during his last months and allowed him to stay in his home.
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Spokane, 121 S. Arthur St, Spokane, WA 99210.
Please share your memories of Bill and condolences for his family on his Tribute Wall.
