Cheryl Lee Fricke

Born April 25, 1946 in Spokane Valley, Washington to Richard and Margaret Knapp, Cheryl Lee Fricke passed away Monday, December 20, 2021 in Spokane, Washington.  A 1966 graduate from Central Valley High School, Cheryl married the love of her life, Gary Fricke, March 19, 1969 at St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church in Spokane Valley.  For 52 years Cheryl helped her husband maintain the family farm by driving the harvest truck, making wonderful meals for the crew and showering her family with love.  Caring and always doing special things for her friends and community, Cheryl was an exceptional homemaker and florist.  She loved singing in the church choir, attending her kids Little League games and school sporting events, and in later years, babysitting and reading to her grand kids.  Cheryl  liked gardening, antique shopping and going to the casino.  She was an active member in the Bowling League at Players and Spectators in Spokane Valley and parishioner for many years at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockford, Washington.   Cheryl is survived by her husband, Gary Lawrence Fricke; three sons Blaine Fricke of Spokane Valley, Chad Fricke of Spokane and Jay Fricke of Rockford, Washington; one daughter Deanna Derrick of Pasco, Washington; one brother Jim Needham Knapp and one sister Shannon Schwartzenberger and nine grandchildren.  Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Margaret Knapp; two sisters Joanne Adamson, Janet Brannon and son Daryl Fricke.  The Memorial Service is 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 2, 2022 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 138 S River St., Rockford, WA.  To leave condolences for the family, please visit Cheryl’s Tribute Wall.
