Christopher William Goles

August 22, 1974 ~ September 29, 2021 (age 47) 47 Years Old

Tribute

Christopher William Goles, 47, passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, after being struck by a vehicle in Spokane, Washington. His passing leaves a huge hole in the hearts and lives of all those who love him.

At the tragic time of his passing, Chris was traveling to Spokane to prepare for his October 2nd wedding to the love of his life, Shiloh Shuman. Chris and Shiloh were partners and best friends, and together – with Sherman, their beloved Boston Terrier – built a beautiful life, splitting time between their home in Redmond and their beloved cabin. They created wonderful memories hosting family and friends, enjoying great food, football, a big bonfire, & gazing out over the mountain river.  Shiloh was the love of Chris’ life, and his family takes comfort in knowing he was full of love, joy and anticipation at his passing.

Chris was born on August 22, 1974, to Ronald and Mary (Callahan) Goles in Richland, Washington. He grew up in Richland and later moved to Seattle for his education.

Chris earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Washington. He went on to earn his MBA from the University of Colorado. Chris worked as an Infusion Device Specialist and Field Sales Trainer at ICU Medical. For 12 years, he was recognized for his top performance in Laboratory Sales in the fields of Cancer, Molecular, and Clinical Diagnostics. Chris was also a Six Sigma LEAN certified Workflow Consultant.

Chris was a talented, natural athlete, an accomplished baseball player, and a pure fan of sports – apart from soccer, for which he had an equal abundance of talent and disdain. He was a proud University of Washington Husky and member of their PAC-10 Championship Baseball team during his tenure. He continued to crack homers in the Seattle Wooden Bat League. He was an ardent Tyee supporter of the University of Washington Huskies and a Seahawks fan.

Chris had a bright personality and an even bigger heart that filled the room. Chris’ loyalty and love were fierce – if you were in his circle, you were seen and adored as you were, and always knew Chris was in your corner. He crafted his love of the movie “Jaws” into an artform, his passion for the Huskies was undying, and he put his entire life force behind the people, teams, and pursuits that he adored. His commitment and loyalty were stalwart.

Chris is survived by his fiancé, Shiloh Shuman; his Boston Terrier, Sherman; his parents, Ronald and Mary Goles; and his sister, Caroline Goles. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Aloysius and Agnes Callahan, and William and Vlasta Goles.  He will be dearly missed and remembered by Steve and Debbie Shuman; Peter, Jodi, Grace and Peter Jr Scheffel; his three aunts, uncle and many beloved Callahan cousins.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1111 Stevens Dr, Richland, WA 99354. There will be a brief reception to follow for family and friends of Christopher.
