Clifford Lee Empson passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, Tuesday, November 26, 2019. Born in Urbana, Illinois December 21, 1926 to Frank and Velma Empson, Clifford was a gentle soul who believed life was all about serving others. As a WWII Navy veteran, Clifford served in the South Pacific, Borneo, the Phillipines and in the Landing Craft Infantry (LCI). After his military service, Clifford worked 48 years for the railroad at the Wabash Railroad company, Great Northern, Burlington Northern and Northern Pacific. Always smiling or telling a good joke,Clifford loved his family and would often be seen enjoying his favorite hobbies of wood working, fishing, cooking and baking or participating in the membership organizations of Community Watch Channel 3 radio and the Railroad Retirement Group. Clifford is preceded in death by his loving wife Ardella Rosaline Gentry, committed partner Ruth Lane, brother William Empson and grandchild Michael Arthur Empson. He is survived by three sons Terry Empson, Danny Empson and Dennis Empson, all of Spokane Washington; two daughters Tina Malmoe and Lori Bullock, both of Spokane Valley, Washington; 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. Military Honors will commence at the Medical Lake Veteran's Cemetery Committal Chapel Friday, December 20th, 2019 at 11:15 a.m. To share memories of Clifford and leave condolences for the family, please visit the Tribute Wall.
