Tribute

Daniel John Wilson, 81, of Spokane, Washington, passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family on November 2, 2022. Daniel was born on March 14, 1941, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan.

Dan was employed as a Transportation Agent for Northwest-Delta Airlines for 38 years, beginning in Chicago, Illinois, then in Miami, Florida, and settling in Spokane in 1974. He received a degree in Political Science from Gonzaga University in 1992 and as a season ticket holder, enjoyed watching the women’s Gonzaga basketball team play home games every year. For many years, Dan and Sandra were season ticket holders for the Best of Broadway at the INB Performing Arts Center in Spokane. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Spokane Valley and served on several committees. Dan could be found each year working at the Kiwanis food booth at the Spokane Interstate Fair. As a skilled woodworker, Dan created many beautiful pieces of furniture over the years. Dan and Sandra were able to travel to destinations around the world, making many fond memories.

Daniel is survived by his wife Sandra of 41 years and his children from his first marriage, daughters Kerri (Steve) Davenport, Jodi (Michael) Clark, and his son Daniel Wilson Jr. Daniel is also survived by stepson Brendan (Carol) Byrne, stepson Shan (Susan) Byrne, and his loving grandchildren, Lexie, Sarah and Abby Clark, and Meagan, Ryan, Maggie, Anwen, and Pippa Byrne. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Steven Davenport, and his parents, Jerome and Edna Wilson, and brothers Jerome and Robert Wilson. Dan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Meagan and Ryan Byrne expressed their deep gratitude for their Grandpa Dan’s kind spirit and quick wit. He brought love and laughter to their lives that will resonate in their hearts forever. He will always serve as a role model in their lives. We would like to offer a special thank you for the outstanding care and loving kindness provided Dan by his Multicare oncology team of doctors, nurses and staff; and Hospice of Spokane for the loving support given to Dan and family at the end of his life’s journey.
