Darleen Pauline Hauff

Darleen Hauff, 79, of Spokane Valley, WA, passed away at home of natural causes on May 13, 2018. Darleen was born to Max and Ruth Biffert on August 18, 1938.

She grew up on a farm near Halliday, ND, graduated from high school in 1957, attended Dickinson Teachers College for one year, and taught in a one-room school near Richardton, ND. She married Elmer Hauff on June 12, 1959, in Glen Ullin, ND.

Darleen was a homemaker most of her married life, with the exception of five years when she worked on the Burlington Northern RR. Darleen and Elmer went on vacation to Washington in 1965 and did not return to North Dakota until seven years later. Upon returning to North Dakota, they lived in Hebron, Mandan, and finally to a farm near St. Anthony, where they resided until 2016 when they relocated back to Washington to be near their family and grandson.

Darleen is survived by her three children: Cheryl Peterson (Dave) of Spokane Valley, twins Mark (Dawn) and son Daniel, of Kingston, ID, and Marvin of Adams, OR. She is also survived by her brothers Norman, Daniel, Jonas, and Allen Biffert, and sisters Kathleen Olsen, Marjorie Cardarelli, Dorothy Fredrick, and Vivian Earwood. Her husband Elmer preceded her in death by just three weeks. A service will be held for both Darleen and Elmer at Capital Christian Center on Friday, May 25th, 11am, 3838 Jericho Rd, Bismarck, ND.
