Donald Blaine

Born in Rathdrum, Idaho September 26, 1940 to Harry and Ethel Blaine, Donald “Donnie” Duane Blaine passed away March 20, 2020 surrounded by his family in Spokane Valley Washington.  Graduating from Rathdrum High School in 1958, Donnie attended Spokane Technical and Vocational School, currently known as Spokane Community College.  As a 79 year resident of Upper Twin Lakes, Idaho and Lion Club community member, Donnie owned and operated Marine Construction, in addition to working as a pipe fitter and logger, never to retire.  Funny, quick witted, well read on topics such as WWII, politics, the mafia, trains and planes Donnie, in his free time, could be found skiing at Schweitzer mountain, target practicing with his grandsons, photographing, fishing, hunting, or assembling model airplanes and trainsets.  Donnie is survived by four daughters Teresa Huber-Fong (Stan Fong), Kimberly Blaine Fisher, Robin Blaine and Tracy Blaine (Fred Glisson);  Two sons Matthew and Christopher MacPherson – that he symbolically adopted as ‘the two sons he never had’; One brother James Blaine; Six grandchildren Acacia, Anthony, Breeanna, Cody, Ty, Alyssa and Seven great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his sister Cheryl Blaine in July of 2005.  A Life Celebration has been planned to take place on the 4th of July, 2020, 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Blaines Lake Resort, 9526 West Twin Lakes Rd. in Rathdrum, Idaho.   The family requests in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local animal shelter or Humane Society.
