Donald Dee Johnson, a longtime resident of Spokane, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2020, in Spokane, Washington. Don was born to Glen and Maria (Le Gault) Johnson in Ione, Washington, on November 4, 1942. He attended a Catholic high school in Walla Walla and later studied at Spokane Community College. Don worked as an auto body painter for 42 years, 27 of which were at Artistic Body & Fender Shop on Trent Ave in Spokane.
Don was known for his sense of humor and loved to joke around with people. He was an outdoors person enjoying deer hunting, fishing, and hydroplane racing. He loved to do these activities with his son Lonnie. Don was a huge NASCAR fan - especially Dale Earnhardt, Sr. - he never missed a race!
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Maria Johnson; brother, Jerry Johnson; and sister, Sue Lalley. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Shelley M. Johnson, and son, Lonnie L. Johnson, both of Spokane Valley.
Please share your memories of Don or leave condolences for his family on his Tribute Wall.
