Donald Jay Leggott

Donald J Leggott of Newman Lake, Washington passed at home on Wednesday, November 24,2021.  He was surrounded by family and close friends.  Don lived a good long life.  He was born on June 7,1935 in San Diego Hospital to Jessie Margaret (Phibbs) and Grover J Leggott and was the oldest of four children.  His parents, brother Robert George and sister Mary Grayce predeceased him.  His sister Karen Jean is alive and well.  He is survived by the love of his life and best friend Stephanie (Burns) (m. 1961), his five children Evonne Lenore (by first wife), Lori Ann (h. Jon Pennock), Donna Jean (h. Ray Riggin), Steven J, Gregory Louis (w. Cindy), 10 grandchildren; Five step-grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren with one more on the way. 

Don was raised in La Mesa, California and went to Helix High School.  After high school he work at Convair a Division of General Dynamics which built rockets and spacecraft.  He then worked at San Diego Restaurant Supply as a warehouse supervisor and then some odd jobs here and there until he found his place at Santee County Water District later to become Padre Dam Municipal Water where he worked for 25 years until he retired in 1997.  After his retirement he settled in Spokane, Washington where his daughters lived. 

Don loved drag racing, fishing, Gonzaga basketball and his family.  His door was always open to anyone in need. To leave condolences for the family and share memories of Don, please visit his Tribute Wall.
