Frances Jean Martin

Frances “Jeane” Martin, our beautiful mom, passed to Heaven April 16, 2021.  It was such a holy, sacred experience and it brought such peace to my niece and I as we sat in the presence of God hovering over her body.  Our precious mom was the most selfless, giving and loving person I know.  Such a mom to so many.  When someone came into her path that needed help she was there for them.  She was an intercessor, a prayer warrior, never giving up on anyone but always holding them in prayer!  She loved to sing and was a worshipper with an amazingly beautiful soprano voice that she used for the glory of God.  She had a strong faith and loved Our Lord and Savior, Jesus.  Jeane was born during the Great Depression on April 29th, 1935 to Joseph and Ann Taylor.  Jeane and her sister Sally spent a great deal of their childhood living with their maternal “Bavarian” grandmother, Elisabeth Turney.  Jeane adored her grandmother and her grandmother imparted her strong faith to Jeane.  Jeane would pray the rosary at her grandmother’s knee.  After high school Jeane joined the Air Force and met her husband Bill Martin.  They had eight children together.  Jeane is survived by seven children, nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.  The Rosary and Vigil is scheduled this Thursday, 5:00 p.m., April 22, 2021 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church 3520 East 18th Ave., Spokane, WA 99223.  The Funeral Mass is 10:00 a.m., Friday April 23, 2021 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, followed by an 11:30 a.m. Committal at Queen of Peace Cemetery, 6910 South Ben Burr Road.  The Reception will begin at 12:30 p.m. at Hennessey Valley Funeral Home 1315 North Pines Road, Spokane Valley, WA.  To leave condolences for the family please visit Jeane's Tribute Wall.
