Gerald Richard Erickson

Born July 27, 1931, in Fargo, North Dakota to Gjert and Alma Erickson, Gerald Richard Erickson passed away Monday, April 1, 2024, in Spokane, Washington.  After graduating from Roger’s High School in the Class of 1950, Gerald married Shirley Marie Meyers in 1954 in Superior, Montana.  Gerald worked as a Hydro Tech Foreman for Washington Water Power, currently known as Avista, celebrating 68 years as an Avista Trail Blazer.  Gerald and his wife Shirley loved to travel.  Together they went on nine cruises around the world and spent many days boating on Lake Coeur d’Alene.  Gerald also liked to fish, and hunt and had a fond affection for their four Cairn Terrier dogs. He was a parishioner at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Spokane Valley, WA, and a member of the Elks Lodge.  Gerald is survived by his wife, Shirley Erickson; three sons, William Erickson, Barry Erickson (Pam,) and Paul Erickson; and one daughter, Julie Erickson; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Gjert ‘Jack’ and Alma Erickson; and one sister, Betty Faydo.
