Born November 18, 1937 in Monroe, Washington to George and Margaret Fitzgerald, Gerald Lee Fitzgerald passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022 in Spokane Valley, Washington. Graduating from Snohomish High School with college credits from San Diego State University, Gerald was proud to have served his country in the United States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer from 1957 to 1977. October 11, 1963 he married Elizabeth Kirk, and in the ensuing years, Gerald became a Refrigeration mechanic and a Business partner in the Spring Creek Nursery, wholesale business based in Deer Park, WA. Happy, easy going and compassionate, Gerald liked hunting, fishing and playing in the bowling league. As a dependable family man, Gerald was most proud of his children, grandchildren and loved hanging out with his family. Gerald is survived by his wife Elizabeth; one son Michael Fitzgerald (Michelle); one daughter Christine Crace; one brother Larry Fitzgerald; one sister Sandy Gibbs; four Grandchildren and one Great grandchild. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents George and Margaret Fitzgerald. Military Honors and Committal service will take place 2:30 p.m. Friday, October 21st at the Washington State Veteran’s Cemetery 21702 West Espanola Rd., Medical Lake, WA 99022, followed by a 3:30 p.m. gathering at Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites 8923 East Mission Ave., Spokane Valley, WA 99212.
