Born October 4, 1931 in Santiago, Chile to Hermann Blumenbach and Guacolda Delano, Hella Ines Blumenbach Schrandt passed away in Spokane Valley, Washington Sunday, February 14, 2021. Hella was a joyful, giving and sharing person who had a strong faith in God. She married Gerhard Schrandt December 6, 1952 in Requinoa, Chile and was known for opening her heart and home to anyone in need. She had been a seamstress for Ratner’s Clothing, eventually becoming a bus driver for the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System. Attending the College Avenue Baptist church in San Diego, California, Hella enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading and sewing, as well. Hella is survived by three sons living in Spokane Washington, Paul Schrandt (Jackie), Hans Schrandt (Terri) and Ernst; One daughter Sigrid Schrandt San Diego, CA; Two sisters Alicia Sievert Santiago, Chile and Patricia Walther-Stadt Dietzenbach, Hessen, Germany; Nine Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, March 6 at Paul & Jackie Schrandt’s home, 11105 E. Mica Lane in Spokane Valley, Washington.
