Jacob D. Schmidt

Born March 23, 2001 in Spokane, Washington to Eric and Christine Schmidt, Jacob D. Schmidt passed away Monday, May 23, 2022 in Spokane Valley, Washington. A West Valley High School graduate from the Class of 2019, Jacob went to college for six months before taking a break, deciding what he would like to do.  His most recent employment was working in the lumber department at Lowe’s Hardware. He was ready to enroll in the CDL School of trucking, but he passed away from us too soon and did not get the chance. From the age of five and all through high school, Jacob loved baseball and basketball, and if given the opportunity, he would have played 24/7.  He also loved other outdoor activities such as Frisbee golf, shooting hoops and backyard games like corn hole. Jacob was kind, funny and always putting others before himself.  He loved animals, especially his two dogs, and had a great smile and  laugh that would light up a room.  Jacob is survived by one sister Katelyn Schmidt; His parents Eric and Christine Schmidt; Grandparents Mary and Kevin Hutchings, grandfather Thomas Kimbrell and uncle Jason Kimbrell. Jacob was preceded in death by his grandpa and grandma Duane and Arlene Schmidt.  A Viewing is scheduled for Wednesday June 1, 2022 2:30 p.m. followed by a 4:00 p.m. Funeral Service and Reception at Hennessey Valley Funeral Home 1315 N.
