Born January 5, 1940 to Lloyd Perman Olbricht and Kathryn Iola (Olbricht) Shelly in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, James Clyde Olbricht passed Monday, December 27th 2021. James served in the United States Air Force in both the Korean War and the Vietnam War. In January 1957 he did his basic training at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas, and while being stationed at Lowry AFB in Denver, Colorado, he met his wife Lillian Loraine (Lippert) whom he married on September 25, 1960. James obtained the rank of TSgt before being honorably discharged November 9, 1977. His tours overseas included Spain, Thailand, Casablanca, Africa and Iceland. Stateside James served in Washington DC, Denver, Colorado, Wichita and Salina, Kansas, Atwater, California and Spokane, Washington. After 22 years of honorable military service, James retired at Fairchild AFB. After retirement James was employed for 20 years by the Central Valley School District as a bus driver. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, watching Gonzaga boys and girls basketball, Seahawks football, his family and dogs. James is survived by his wife, Lillian Loraine (Lippert); one son Eugene Clyde and his wife BeeLay Jasmin of Milton, Florida; two daughters Sherry Loraine Locati and Terri Lynn Jacobs of Spokane, WA; three Grandchildren, Nicole Brianna Jacobs, Yvette Rose Olbricht and Patrick James Jacobs and his wife Makayla; one brother Lloyd Charles Olbricht of Grand Coulee, Washington; one sister Iris Doherty and her husband Richard Doherty of Spokane, WA; one half sister Patty Sulpizio; two step-sisters Margaret Buck and Kathleen Parker and many nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Larry in 1996 and Tony in 2021; his half sister’s husband Gus Sulpizio and his two step sisters’ husbands Don Buck and Ed Parker. * We would like to thank Patrick and Makayla for the extra care they gave their grandpa his last few weeks. A Viewing is scheduled for Thursday, January 6th beginning at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 12:30 p.m. at Hennessey Valley Funeral Home, 1315 North Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA. The Committal with full Military Honors begins at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 17825 East Trent Ave., Spokane Valley, WA.
