February 3, 1976 ~ March 9, 2018 (age 42) 42 Years Old

Tribute

Jenny was born on February 3, 1976 to Jim and Margaret Smith at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane. She passed away surrounded by friends and family at Sacred Heart hospital after a two year battle with breast cancer. She was raised in the Spokane Valley all of her life graduating from University High School and Spokane Community College where she earned her AA degree. Jenny met the love of her life, Scott Bliesner, when they were teenagers and they married in 1995. Together, they raised two incredible boys - Austin and Cody. She was a loving wife and devoted mother who always found time to make them feel special. Jenny worked at Honeywell in Spokane Valley for over 20 years in customer service alongside her husband. She loved the outdoors and found peace in long hikes in the Northwest, snowshoeing in the Dishman Hills, camping at Tacoma Creek, and kayaking on Liberty Lake. She had a passion for travel with a special place in her heart for sunny beaches, like those in Mexico, Hawaii, and the Oregon Coast. She and Scott were longtime members of the Friday night Valley rec league volleyball and made many new lifelong friends over the years. Even when she couldn’t play, she was their loudest cheerleader. Jenny loved music and enjoyed going to concerts – from watching her sons perform in the East Valley orchestra, to seeing the biggest rock bands with friends and family. Her dearest friends were a substantial part of her life. Meko Millard, Lisa Bowman, Da Lene Szember, Rana Hartley, and Lynne Williams were her steadfast support system through her illness, and we are forever grateful for their love and dedication. There are countless friends and colleagues who will miss her dearly. Jenny was preceded in death by her father Jim Smith. She is survived by her loving husband Scott Bliesner, sons Austin and Cody, mother Margaret Bowen, and siblings Debbie Mueller, Theresa Meyer, Doug Bass, Rick Smith, Cathy Nelson, Nancy Vowell, and Marcy Bourcy, and numerous nephews and nieces. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Cancer Care Northwest and Sacred Heart Hospital for treating Jenny with compassion and care. Jenny’s celebration of life will be 2:30PM, Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Hennessey Valley Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 N. Pines Road, Spokane Valley, WA. In lieu of flowers, Jenny wanted donations made to the American Cancer Society.
