Jerome Robert Riordan, 97, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018, in Spokane, Washington. He was born on September 9, 1921 in Spokane to Blanche and Frank Riordan. A lifetime resident of Spokane, Jerome graduated from Gonzaga Prep and attended Gonzaga University for a few months.
Jerome was a Private First Class in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater serving as an infantry munitions bearer. He married Beverly B. Gabel in Spokane in 1950. Jerome worked as a pressman for The Spokesman-Review for 33 years. He was always working on projects and enjoyed fishing and archery. Jerome will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his strong sense of responsibility, and for always trying to do the right thing. He was very loving, supportive, and humble.
Jerome is survived by his wife Beverly Riordan of Spokane; children Angie Speziale of Cheney, Steve Riordan of Renton, Kathleen Alexander of Spokane, Lisa Eirls of Spokane, and Pat Riordan of Spokane Valley; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
A Bon Voyage for Dad will be held from 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at the *Timber Creek Buffet, 9211 E Montgomery Ave, Spokane Valley, WA 99206*. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
