Kathleen Ann Harris

Kathy Harris, age 69, passed away suddenly on February 16, 2021 in Spokane Valley, WA.

Kathy was born July 20, 1951 in Cottonwood, Idaho.  She was the first-born child to Arnold and Thecla Holthaus. Kathy graduated from Prairie High School in Cottonwood in 1969. She was married to the love of her life, Bill Harris, on October 19, 1974. Together they started their family in Oceanside, CA. Kathy was a devoted wife to Bill and amazing mother to Dan and John.

Kathy worked as a Revenue and Recovery Clerk for San Diego County for over fourteen years. Later, when the family moved from Oceanside to Spokane in 1989, Kathy went to work at Pitney Bowes, retiring in 2010.

Kathy enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening, pedicures with the girls, watching Gonzaga sports, Lifetime and Hallmark movies, and her favorite of all was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Kathy enjoyed the comforts of home, but never missed the opportunity to support her children or grandchildren in their activities or family trips.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents: Arnold and Thecla Holthaus, brother Tim Holthaus and brother in-law Mike Owen.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 47 years: Bill; her sons Dan and wife Candace, and John and wife Bridgette; four grandchildren Alexa, Gretal, Parker and Brydan. She is also survived by her siblings and their spouses: Carole, Alan and wife Micki, Karol (sister in-law), Ed and wife Sheri, Roger and wife Alica, and Susan and husband Brian.

A celebration of Kathy’s life will be held at Hennessey Valley Funeral Home, 1315 N. Pines Rd, Spokane Valley, WA on Thursday, February 25, 2021, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Committal will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Pines Cemetery, 1420 S.
