Tribute

Lillian passed peacefully and went to be with God at her home on September 5th with her husband “Jack” of 61 years at her side. Lillian was born at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane on November 10th 1938 to Annette and Luke Salisbury. She lived most of her life in the Spokane Valley where her and Jack raised their family. Lillian attended St. Leo’s Catholic school in Tacoma while her father was in WWII in Germany. She then attended school in the Central Valley School District through junior high and then attended West Valley High School. On her graduation day she met her friends after the ceremony and one of her friends’ brother Jack Muzatko was there also. She had met the love of her life and they started dating. After high school, Lillian attended Kelsey Baird Secretarial School and became executive secretary to Mr. Berlin who was the head of Equitable Life Insurance in downtown Spokane. Lillian and Jack married at St. John Vianney Catholic Church on June 3, 1961. Jack and Lillian’s marriage was a true loving partnership. They started their family in the Spokane Valley where they had three children, Mark, Michael and Melissa. Lillian’s family was her life. She enjoyed family gatherings, being active in the parish and the children’s Scouting programs, family vacations to Disneyland and the Oregon coast, gardening and watching her children grow, attending every event and special moment in their lives. Jack and Lillian joined other partners and started Evergreen Glass and Aluminum in Spokane. Lillian became a grandmother with the birth of her granddaughters Taylor and Madison. Lillian took great joy in helping with their early daily care and elementary school years.

Lillian was a loving, strong, dedicated and nurturing wife and mother to her husband, children and then grandchildren until her passing. Her legacy will be one of love, loyalty, humor and unending support for those in her life. Lillian is survived by her husband Jack Muzatko, children Mark, Michael and Melissa Muzatko, daughter in law Laura Muzatko, her sister Beverly Brickner and numerous beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
