Margie Grace Wood

Margie Wood was lifted to Heaven on April 8, 2021. Born to Thomas and Ruth Lynch on September 6, 1931 in Brewster, Washington.

Margie loved her Gonzaga Bulldogs, traveling, gardening, and baking – her cookie bowl was never empty. She was always working on a sewing or crafting project. Margie was an associate of The Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary and a faithful volunteer for church guilds. Her years with Jack in Springdale, WA were favorites of hers and she felt blessed by the people in the community who remained friends until she passed away. She enjoyed helping and participating at the Hillyard Senior Center. Her true love, however, was spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who affectionately called her G.G.

Preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack Wood, her sister, Patricia Bryant, brother, Tom Lynch, her sons, Michael Wood, Thomas “Chip” Wood, and daughter, Antoinette Wood.

Margie is survived by her children: Mike (deceased) and Barb Wood, Teresa and Dan Rees, Cheryl and Steve Townley, Tim and Bonnie Wood, Mark and Linda (deceased) Wood, Dorothy McLeod, Tina and Mike Sowl, Elizabeth Hynes, and Janae Housden. 19 Grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren. So many others considered her “Mom” and “Grandma Margie”, she will be missed by everyone who’s life she touched.

Margie had a passion for taking care of those less fortunate and contributed to numerous charities and organizations. If you wish to donate in her name to a charity or organization, you are passionate about her legacy will continue.

Funeral Mass will be held on April 22, at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church: 2320 N Cedar St., Spokane, WA. Interment will follow at 1:00 PM at Holy Cross Cemetery: 7200 N. Wall St., Spokane, WA. To leave condolences for the family, visit Margie's Tribute Wall
