Michael Nestor, beloved only child of Edna and Martin Nestor, adored husband and father of Susan Nestor and five daughters, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018. He grew up in Spokane, attending Sacred Heart Elementary, Gonzaga Prep and Gonzaga University, where he participated in ROTC and graduated with a BA in Business. He worked at Seattle First National Bank, after two years of Army active duty, followed by 15 years Reserves. He retired as a Vice President of Loans from Seafirst and enjoyed his time with his beautiful wife, enjoyed time with kids, grandkids and great-grandkids, and traveling to Kauai any chance they could. He was a 60-year member of St. Peter’s Parish, volunteering as usher, lecturer and various committees. Five daughters survive him: Elizabeth Krise, (David), Cathy Linton, (Todd), Marie Christensen, (John), Patti McNabb and Michele Nestor. He also has 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held Friday, April 20, 4-7pm, at Hennessey Valley Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 N Pines Rd, Spokane Valley. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, April 21, 10am, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 3520 E 18th Ave, Spokane, with a reception to follow in the parish hall. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions would gladly be accepted at Hospice of Spokane, or Alzheimer’s Association.
