Noreen Smith

Noreen Fitzpatrick Smith, "Jerry", passed away September 4, 2019 in Spokane Valley, Washington. Born May 12, 1927 in Flagstaff, Arizona to Bartholomew Patrick Fitzpatrick and Kathleen Louise Sheehan, Jerry was a Catholic who loved her family and throughout her life stayed strong in her faith. Having attended high school in Tuscon, Arizona and graduating from college with a Bachelor of Arts from Flagstaff, she married Robert (Bob) Mitchell Smith October 15, 1949 and soon became a mother raising three sons,Tom, Dan and Robert and two daughters Margaret and Sue.  In 1976 the family moved to Okanogan Valley, putting down roots in the town of Malott, Washington. In 2002, her permanent home became Spokane.  Tenacious, giving and hardworking Jerry was well read and intelligent.  She participated in politics and was very artistic in sewing and gardening.  Proceeding her in death are her parents Bart and Louise, Tom Fitzpatrick (brother), Kathleen Dalton (sister), Robert Michael Smith (son) and Theresa Noreen Smith, daughter. She is survived by two sons Tom Smith (Annie) in Oregon and Dan Smith (Nancy) in Washington; two daughters Margaret Ferrell (John) and Sue Watilo (Steve), both in Washington; five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

 A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2019, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 503 N Walnut Rd, Spokane Valley, WA 99206. Prior to Mass, there will be Visitation at 9:00 and Rosary at 9:30. There will be a Reception following Mass in the Parish hall. Interment will take place in Spring of 2020 at the Malott Cemetery in Okanogan Valley.
