Perry John Stamness

Perry John Stamness, 47, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019, in Yuma, Arizona, while on vacation. He was born on July 5, 1971, in Shakopee, Minnesota, to Delmer and Janice Stamness. Perry grew up in New Prague, Minnesota. He also lived in Heron, Montana where he graduated from Noxon High School and attended Spokane Falls Community College.

Perry worked as an IT professional at Premera Blue Cross in Spokane. He had a love for music and enjoyed playing drums. For many years Perry was the drummer for a local Spokane band-- Wiser Sin. He was a big Minnesota Vikings fan and enjoyed playing and watching hockey. Perry loved the outdoors where he spent his time hunting and fishing. He was loving, kind, and tender-hearted. Perry will be remembered for being genuine and for always being good for a laugh with his quick wit.

He is survived by his fiancé Tonya Wood; father Delmer Stamness of Priest River, Idaho; sister Susan Stamness of Minnesota; brother Daniel (Justina) Stamness of Texas; and various nieces, nephews, and cousins. He also leaves behind his beloved dog Chumley. Perry is preceded in death by his mother, Janice, in May 2018.

A Celebration of Perry’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Hennessey Valley Funeral Home, 1315 N. Pines Rd, Spokane Valley, Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Futuresong.org or SpokaneHumaneSociety.org.
