Raymond Gust Wenning passed away September 4, 2021 in Spokane, WA.  He was born on September 11, 1950 in Colfax, WA to Gust E. Wenning and Bertha M. Weber.  Ray graduated from Shadle Park High School in 1968, and from SCC in 1970 with an AA Degree in Auto Mechanics.  He then enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served as a Heavy Equipment Operator, achieving the rank of Sergeant and earning a Bronze Star for service in Vietnam.  After finishing his military service, he returned to the Spokane area and had three children with his first wife Ann Shankman.  He had a 36 year long career as a cement truck driver for Central Pre-Mix.  In 2005 he married Jeri Sale.

Ray was a loving husband, father, and grandparent. He had a quiet, knowing, and kind nature and was meticulous in everything.  A skilled woodworker, he created children's toys, gifts, and small furniture.  He also enjoyed feeding birds and squirrels, cross-stitching, and was an avid reader. 

Ray is survived by his wife Jeri; son Abraham; daughters Moriah and Rachel; granddaughter Alice; sisters Linda and Marilyn; brother Byron; nieces Cindy and Elizabeth; nephews Byron Jr. and Jakob; grandnephews Bradley and Steven.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his niece Dawn Thompson.
