Tribute

Richard Paul Atkins was born in Cut Bank, Montana, to Richard and Patricia Atkins. He passed away from cancer on Feb 1, 2019. Siblings Joan, Joel, Jill and Sarah.

Paul was raised in the farm life, which he loved. He was a natural motorcycle rider from the age of 5. Fondest memories were of long rides with extended family deep into the Bob Marshall Wilderness, camping and exploring. He often spoke in awe of the natural wonders he saw there. He began winning MX races at a young age, and trophied at flat track well into his forties. He was certified as a lifeguard at the age of 12 in Great Falls, Mt.

Paul was a gifted mechanic, graduating with a degree in Diesel Technology from Northern Montana College in Havre. He was an excellent fabricator, making any parts he needed. He was a valued member of Kenworth Sales, Spokane. An exceptionally hard worker, he was always a good provider. He enjoyed cards, sports, riding into the woods on his bike with his sons, and video games.

Paul married Amy Kincaid in 1982. Divorced in 2014. Blessed with four loving, incredible sons: Tyler, Alexander, MacKenna, and Torin. Pre-deceased by parents, sister Joan. Survived by ex-wife Amy, sons, siblings Joel, Jill and Sarah of Montana. Numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins, in Montana.

Paul had an infectious cackle. He loved music, often lamenting that he didn’t inherit the family musician gene. But Alex did. His sons are fascinated by electronics, as he was. He had many good traits that we appreciate. We had many good times which we will remember fondly. He was loved by his family.

A small family service is planned for late spring in Cut Bank, Mt.

Please share memories of Paul in the guestbook.
