Born February 9, 1947 in Sunnyside, WA to Ralph and Dorothy Bowers, Rueben Dale Bowers passed away in Spokane, WA from natural causes Friday, July 16, 2021. Graduating from Sunnyside High School in 1965, Rueben furthered his education by taking courses in 1982 in Business Management at Spokane Community College. Rueben honorably served his country in the United States Air Force from 1966 thru 1970. After his military service, Rueben’s occupation was in credit and collections, where he was employed in various companies throughout the Spokane area. He was kind, generous and one to always help others. He was a member of the Prairie Riders and Spokane Credit Association. Rueben enjoyed fishing, camping, horseback riding and golfing. He is survived by two sons Richard Bowers of Yakima, WA and Troy Bowers of Mead, WA; two daughters Amanda Bowers of Tennessee and Whitney Bowers of Spokane, WA; one brother Bob Bowers of Myrtle Creek, Oregon and two sisters Carol McDaniel of Spokane, WA and Linda Gilbert of Graham, WA; 10 Grandchildren and one Great Grandchild. Rueben was preceded in death by his son Rueben Dale Bowers Jr.; one daughter Chelle Jean Bowers; parents Ralph Bowers and Dorothy “Dee” Smith; grandparents Willie and Lillie Bowers, Roy and Leo Flath and Ernest Long. The family requests consider giving a Memorial donation to SightLife, a non-profit organ donation organization. The Memorial Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Hennessey Valley Funeral Home, 1315 North Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA., followed by a luncheon reception in the Fireside room. The Committal service with Military Honors is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 23, 2021 at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake.
