Born February 15, 1990 in Billings, Montana to Thomas and Yvonne Olsem, Ryan Andrew Olsem passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 18, 2021 in Spokane Valley, Washington.  After graduating from Central Valley High School, Ryan honorably served his country, first in the U.S. Army National Guard and then in the Iraq  War from October 2008 to July 2009.  He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for meritous service July 31, 2009.   While working as a crane operator for Kaiser Aluminum, he met and married the love of his life, Kaitlyn Straightiff, July 18, 2016, and together they raised two beautiful daughters Klyie and Robyn.  With an out-going personality and great sense of humor, Ryan enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing in many of Spokane area lakes.  He made a positive impact on people’s lives, had a fondness for animals and loved spending time with his family and friends.  He was a good and proud father, brother, husband and son.  His hugs were warm and safe.  He will be greatly missed.   Ryan is survived by his wife, Kaitlyn Gene Olsem, Spokane, WA; Two daughters Kylie Marie Olsem, Spokane, WA and Robyn Michelle Olsem, Spokane, WA; Two brothers Taylor Olsem, Billings, MT and Jacob Levno, Spokane, WA; Two sisters Jessie Bruno and Kaylee Levno, Spokane, WA; Parents Yvonne Levno, Billings, MT and Thomas Olsem, St. Paul, MN; Grandparents Bill and Patsy Stoltenberg, Billings, MT.  He was preceded in death by his grandmother Sharon Olsem, grandfather Michael Olsem, uncle Michael Olsem Jr., and step father David Levno.  Memorial donations can be made to the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation 1133 15th St. NW Suite 1000, Washington, DC  20005 and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention 199 Water Street, 11th Floor, New York, NY  10038.  The Memorial Service will take place Sunday, August 29th, 11:00 a.m. at Hennessey Valley Funeral Home.  To leave condolences for the family and share memories of Ryan, please visit his Tribute Wall.
