Sonia Monserrate Lugo Wagoner, 70, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022, in Spokane Valley, Washington. She was born to Rafael Lugo and Awilda Segarra on April 24, 1952, in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.
Before passing, Sonia was the second in a line of five living generations. She was a beautiful loving, kind, graceful, unconditionally compassionate, and caring soul. Being of Puerto Rican descent, who was an amazing cook with everything that she made from her culture. She always made every American dish with her “Puerto Rican flare”. She loved authentic Mexican food, her favorite drink was root beer, and she loved home baked pastries.
Sonia was a devoted daughter and loved her family who reside in Puerto Rico. She always smelled soft, was sweet, and taught her children about endurance, perseverance, faith, hope, and understanding. She cared deeply about her family and felt other people in pain. She was a loyal wife who taught her children what forgiveness, mercy, grace, and devotion truly was. She was a lover of animals, especially her cat Tiger who was with her for 15 years. She loved classic rock, country music, and old hymns. She spent her days watching court and reality shows.
Sonia was the life of the party, her laugh was contagious, and she saw easily right through others. Although her faith was often tested, she never lost sight of Jesus who carried her straight into her father’s arms.
Sonia is survived by her husband, Tom; four daughters, Tabby, Heather, Jessie, and Cindy (poo bear); three sons-in-law, William, Rootie, and Parren; her mother; two brothers; one sister; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. She is now reuniting with her unborn son, Tommy.
She fought the good fight; she finished the race; and she kept her faith. Finally, there is laid up for her the crown of righteousness which the Lord has given her and to those who also love his appearance. 2 Timothy 4:7-8
