Thomas Andrew Jackson

February 23, 1966 ~ February 7, 2024 (age 57) 57 Years Old

Thomas Andrew Jackson, known to friends and family as Andy, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2024, after battling frontal-temporal dementia for several years, in Spokane, Washington, at the age of 57. He was born on February 23, 1966, in Miami, Florida, to Walter Mac and Janice Eloise Jackson.

Andy spent his early years in Florida before moving to Leesburg, Virginia, and finally settling with his family in Brainerd, Minnesota where he grew up. He graduated from high school in Brainerd and later attended St. Scholastica College for two years.

In August 1986, Andy married his first wife, Becky. Together, they welcomed three sons into the world: Tyrell (May 1987), Scott (March 1989), and Isaac (May 1991).

Andy began his career working as a tile setter before establishing his own private construction company - Cornerstone Construction which would later become Sequoia Unlimited, Inc. He and his family moved from St. Paul, Minnesota to North Idaho in the year 2000.  There he continued to work in construction, often spending years turning a client’s house into everything they envisioned.  He was known to form lasting friendships with those he worked for. His commitment to quality and tireless work ethic were evident in every project he undertook.

A devout member of his church and faithful follower of Jesus, Andy valued community, selflessness and humility above all else. He was known for his steadfastness in crisis and willingness to lend all of his time, energy and support to those who needed him. Whether it was through his professional expertise or personal kindness, Andy touched the lives of many and left an indelible mark on his community.

Andy is survived by his sons Tyrell (Emma Ehret) of Spokane, WA, Scott of Moscow, ID and Isaac (Lauren & grandson Julian) of Post Falls, ID.  He is also survived by countless nieces and nephews, his beautiful mother Janice and many siblings: Patrick (Arlene) Jackson, Jennifer (Larry) Hawkins, Becky Lindquist, Fran (Tony) Jensvold, Ruth (Blair) Francis, Meg (David) Hogan, Judy (Paul) Whaley and Deborah (Chris) Flannery.  Let’s not forget the rest of his loving family and a host of friends and acquaintances who will cherish his memory.  He is preceded in death by his father Walter Jackson and his older brother Michael Jackson.

A memorial service to celebrate Andy's ‘crazy good’ life will be held:
