Vernon David Sale was born October 29, 1931 in Spokane, WA to Clyde Wilmer and Mary Belle Sale. Vern was the youngest of the family, joining his 2 brothers and a sister. Vern married his high school sweetheart Marlene Joyce Amundson on Valentine's Day 1952 and they were married for 64 years until her passing on September 16, 2016. Vern passed away on September 18, 2018 which was 2 years and 2 days after Marlene's. Over the years their family grew with the addition of 6 children. Vern worked in several trades throughout his life and was a "Jack of all Trades". He was a very wise man with a quick sense of humor. He was known as a character who loved to tell tales. Vern and Marlene moved to California before retiring to Mesa, Arizona. There they enjoyed 11 glorious years of retirement...like an 11 year honeymoon. Vern is now in Heaven with his beloved Marlene. He was preceded in death by his brothers Clyde "Chick" and Don; his sister Marilyn and sister-in-law Janet Amundson Bossuyt. He is survived by his children Sue (Mike) Johns, Kathy Buckhart, Barb (Jeff) Johnson, Daniel Sale, David (Linda) Sale and Janet Howard (son Michael Howard); niece Judith E Bossuyt Colbert; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Memories and condolences may be shared on his tribute page at www.hennesseyvalley.com.
