Robert Goodman

Robert (Bob) Goodman, age 80, passed away on March 20, 2017, at the Spokane Valley General Hospital, due to complications of pneumonia. Bob left behind three sons, Robert R. Goodman (Coeur d’Alene, Idaho), Mike and Wess Goodman (Fontina, California) and step son, Shane Christopher (Seattle, WA); brothers, Terry Grimes (Liberty lake, WA) and Russell Grimes (Dallas, Texas).
Bob was a Navy Veteran and served on the Aircraft Carrier USS Hancock in the mid 50’s. His claim to fame was that one of his pilots that he strapped in during his Navy deployment was John Glenn (Astronaut!).
After his military commitment, Bob started working in the baking industry that spanned over 42 years and retired from Oroweat Baking Company (Kraft Foods). After his retirement Bob moved back to Spokane where he has resided for the past 15 years
Services will be held at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery, Medical Lake, on Friday, April 7th, 2017 at 11:15 am. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Bob’s name to the Department of Veterans Affairs, 21702 West Espanola Road, Medical Lake, WA 99022.
