Dolores Ann Witt

Dolores Ann Witt passed away February 15, 2018 at home in Spokane Valley. She was born March 12, 1933 in Harrington, Washington, the daughter of Edward and Mary (Shields) Huber. “Dori” lived in Harrington before her family moved to Spokane in 1943. She graduated from Marycliff High School in 1951 and Sacred Heart School of Nursing (Class of 1954). Dolores married Stephen Witt on August 13, 1955 and the two raised a large, tight-knit family—the joy of her life. She is survived by her husband Steve;  children Tom, Rick (Wendy), Kathy (Don Beck), Don (Shelly), Kevin (Jenny), Colleen (Don Brock), Tim (Kelly); 13 grandchildren, Jim, Andrew, Steven, JR, Carlee, Ben, Alex, Jackson, Hunter, Kendall, Mason, Sophia, and Kyle; and three great-grandchildren Daniel, Ella, and Felicity. Dolores was preceded in death by her four-year-old brother Edward Huber, her sister Mary Lou Lavelle, and her oldest grandson Michael John Beck. She exhibited wonderful grace during her yearlong battle with cancer, always greeting you with a smile on her face and maintaining her sense of humor. Her family wishes to thank Selena and Sveta from Hospice of Spokane for the help they provided Dolores so she could remain in her own home until her passing.  She looked forward to their visits. Dori led the dinner prayer at each family gathering and ended it with a quote from her mother, “May we always have as much.” Funeral Mass will be Friday, February 23, 2018 at 10:00 am and will be celebrated at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 503 N Walnut Road, Spokane Valley, Washington. In lieu of flowers, please gather and celebrate your family in remembrance of this gentle woman.
